Little Stinker

So my daughter has found a way to "stick it to me" from the womb. On Sunday morning I was running around trying to get some last minute things ready for church. I learned that Lindsey+big belly+heels+ running = DISASTER!!!! I went to run in the kitchen to fill up my water bottle and wiped out. We are not talking about a dainty little trip, I fell HARD! At first I kinda giggled to myself because of how goofy I knew I looked- I imagine it looked like a girl in a dress sliding into home plate.
Then I remembered the tiny baby in my stomach who was depending solely on me for protection. Needless to say, not so funny anymore. I picked myself off the floor and went to church, thinking as soon as I felt her move my guilt/worry would go away. Keep in mind, I feel her moving around AT LEAST a couple times an hour- usually more (which makes me wonder if she will ever sleep when she gets here, but that is a different story).
2 hours later, I have yet to feel her move and am starting to panic. I think even my little sunbeams could tell I was stressed about something, poor kids. Finally, towards the end of sharing time, we start to sing Popcorn Popping- a favorite among the Primary. As my little 3 year olds are singing at the top of their lungs, my daughter starts going NUTS in my belly. She is kicking and flipping all over the place- and I have never been more grateful for an assault on my internal organs. I really think she was trying to teach me a lesson about being more careful... and trust me I learned it well! And who else can say they know their child's favorite song before they were even born!
Other than that, not much is new. I am really uncomfortable at night (if anyone has any hints to relieve that, please share). I also am wondering if this is normal: I can't eat very much all at once- I feel like I will explode. Totally did NOT see that one coming! Did I mention I LOVE being pregnant? Such an amazing experience, and I feel so blessed to be living it right now!
We are also in the process of making decisions about what we need to get.
I didn't get a whole lot of responses last time, so I am re-extending my plea: Please HELP!!! Let me know what brands have worked for you, what are must haves and what we could probably skip out on, etc. I don't care how small or obvious it may seem, I probably have not thought of it!

I think you know all of my favorites. Get tons of pillows. That's the only way I slept comfortably at night. Seriously dude answer your phone!! I want to talk to you about something :)

buy the big things in neutral colors. get a swing that plugs into the wall. keep the weight of the car seat in mind when you buy one, the lighter the better. these probably sound kind of dumb but it's all i can think of right now.

Ok, this might be a REALLY long comment, so sorry ahead of time!

The same thing happened to me when I was 28 weeks prego. For some reason I got it in my head that I wanted to jump onto my bed - on my belly, and I did. I didn't even think about it before I did it. It really hurt and I totally freaked out. Needless to say, she was fine.

I agree with brooke about the pillows. I totally surrounded myself with pillows and it was SO much more comfortable. But I hate to say it, it only gets worse from here.

I didn't read the comments on your last post, so these may be repeats... but here are the things I love:

-A boppy pillow

-I use pampers swaddlers diapers, which are not cheap... but I have also used huggies and I actually like the shape of those a lot better than pampers, but huggies are a lot more bulky. You just have to feel it out. I'd buy the cheaper brand first and see if you can stand them. If they don't work then pampers are great.

-I wouldn't buy a swing until you know if your baby likes them or not. They are expensive and a lot of babies don't like them. Ellie LOVES hers now, but didn't at first.

-You will need lots of burp clothes. I just use cloth diapers. They work great.

-There are some pictures on my blog of Ellie in the bath tub. You can look at that for a refference. But you will want to have some sort of bath for her. I just have a little mesh seat that she lays on and I put it in the kitchen sink. I really like it.

-I still don't have a crib for her, and probably won't buy one for a few more months. She sleeps in a Pack n Play in my bedroom. I love it because its so easy to take with you wherever you go and it doesn't take up a ton of car space. And you can put it right next to your bed.

-If you are going to breast feed then you should buy nursing garments before the baby comes. I waited for a few weeks after I had her and it made it a lot more difficult to nurse. They are SO convenient!

-A nursing bra can wait until after the baby is born. You really don't know what size you'll be until your milk comes in.

-I use huggies wipes and I like them a lot, but I've never tried any others so I'm not sure about that.

-I have a Graco travel system. I honestly don't use the stroller very often, but when I do it's so convenient to be able to put the entire car seat inside the stroller. If you're looking to save money and don't think you'll use it too often, I'd cut out the stroller. You can buy one for way cheaper than buying a travel system.

-I have a changing table and have only used it one time. You don't need one!

-I don't use a wipe warmer, and in my opinion, you dont need one.

-Breast pumps are a life saver. I borrowed a Medela electric pump from a friend, and it is the best. They are REALLY pricey, but I'm sure I'll buy one with my next baby. I would say a pump is a must have if you are wanting to breast feed for an extended period of time.

-You don't need a diaper geenie unless someone gives it to you. I think they are a waste of money.

Ok, this is getting out of control. You will find out what works for you, and maybe things that I love you won't. Here's a link to a post I did last year when I asked moms the same question. There's LOTS of helpful advice here:

Hey girly!! Well we were in a car accident when I was 4 months pregnant talk about FREAK out. I thought the same things you thought I was a wreck until I was able to call the Doctor that monday. He told me not to worry that the baby probably did not even feel it. He said they are so compact up there in all that water that they are very protected. Grant moved LIKE CRAZY if i did not feel him ever 10-30 min I was freaking out he was very active little guy and still is very much so. Lets see my favorite things...
Pampers and Huggies favorite Diapers and the only ones I will buy.
Baby Trend- is the name of the car seat and it is VOTED Number 1 car seat for infants.
Boppy Pillow
Get a Bouncer- I have the one by fisher price its a bouncer then turns into a toddler chair. You can lean it back and looks like a little bed AWESOME I love it.
SALES- Always check them this past weekend I was shopping and found tons of summer clothes on sale 2.00 a peice and they were carters so of course you stock up.
If you have a babysrus I would go and just wonder around there the store is amazing thats where I got lots of stuff. And they have every thing you can imagine for babys
If you bottle feed I have the Avent bottles and I really like them
Its lots of fun to shop around and look I got online and looked up rateings for alot of things that help me make some choices before I bought.
Get a LIFETIME crib
Its a crib, Then toddler bed, then a queen bed I love it.
Enjoy

I used a body pillow when I was pregnant-just those long straight ones, I couldn't stay comfy with a bunch of different pillows, trying to rearrange them all the time. My doc once told me that the bigger you get the less you can eat at a sitting, but you have to eat more often-this is because your stomach doesn't have as much room to expand with the baby taking up more and more room.

One suggestion I have is a Costco card-we have saved so much $$$ this way. We buy the Kirkland brand diapers-I actually had less problems with leaks with my girls with the Kirkland than the Huggies. The Kirkland brand wipes from Costco are cheap but great-those are the blue packages of wipes that you see everyone at church with. Plus once she's bigger, buying juice boxes, fruit cups, etc. is cheaper there.

Boppy pillows are a must-not just for nursing, but laying the baby in it. Emma still sleeps in hers because she had bad reflux and we didn't want her to choke.

I swear by the baby swing-for my girls this was such a lifesaver!

Hope that helps! Glad your girl loves primary songs-you'll have to get her the CDs.

I had a day where my normally very active kiddo would not move, and I freaked to say the least. I was told that drinking something really cold or something really sweet would give him a jump start. Then after drinking something to lie still on your left side. It didn't work for me, because this baby does what he wants when he wants already...but supposedly that should work.

As for what you may need, I'm of no help at the moment, but I'll let you in on what works for me when I can. I do know that I think changing tables are the biggest waste. We have stocked up on diapers and wipes from Sams club. I didn't buy a swing or a bouncer because they were given to me at a shower, so don't buy that stuff until later. And Old Navy has super cute baby clothes (especially for girls) but you can hit all the sales on their website to save a bunch of money on clothes they grow out of way too fast.

I like that you get all this great advice because then I can read them too and use the same info. I am just waiting to buy the things that we don't get at the baby shower. This baby stuff is so much and I am so thankful for whoever thought to do baby showers.
I am glad that your little princeses is ok and that you are also. That is so cute that she like popcorn popping.

I'm glad you guys are bonding already! humm...as far as advice i think its already been said. buy neutral colors, we loved the swing, only buy what you need right away you can add the others as you need them. dont buy newborn diaper. Taft came home wearing size 1 and Kate only wore them for like a week. give me a call if you need anything.

I LOVE my body pillow when I was pregnant - it made sleeping SOOO much more comfortable! I couldn't sleep without it.

I'm never good at giving baby advice so I'll keep away from that but, I LOVED being pregnant too. I want to do it again and again because I loved it so much. If only I didn't have to go through labor and the newborn stage. ;o)

I know it has been a while since you posted this but I just had my son at the end of July so I have had some time to know what is working and what isn't. I also couldn't eat a lot at one time, it's because the baby is crushing your stomach. I also constantly had bad heartburn.

We really love the Boppy pillow, the Pack N' Play, our bouncer seat, Carter's receiving blankets, Pampers swaddlers, and our Evenflo travel system.

We hardly ever use our changing table or the nursery at all for that matter. I am sure we will eventually but right now it is just easier to have him close by all the time.

Good luck with everything!
